Hmm, I had a pretty strange one last night. Not strange in content exactly, but rather the feeling, the atmosphere of the dream. Usually there is a very clear line between dreaming and waking up for me. Last night I was sleeping, and I'm not really sure what woke me up...but when I opened my eyes in the dark room I was very disoriented and I felt like there were five to seven shapes, about two feet high each, pressing in from the darkness and swirling around my bed like a swarm of flies. There was a high-pitched ringing in my ears and I sat up to swat at the things, but they scattered and disappeared within seconds and, of course, there was nothing in the room when I turned on the lamp. Odd, no? I don't even really consider it a proper dream, so I didn't bother to write it in my overworked dream journal. But it's still interesting to think about, anyway. What prompted it? Why didn't I have the separation from dream and wakefulness that I usually do? Hmm.
In craft news, I have successfully taught myself the beginning steps of knitting and plan on working on it some more tonight. I set the spinning aside for a couple of days because for some reason it made my thumb very sore. I'm guessing it's just because it's a motion that I'm not accustomed to, but I'll build my way up to it slowly. I only have about two feet of yarn spun so far, but it's proving to be addictive already.
What else? I've been watching old cartoons on Youtube, such as Thumbelina, Troll in Central Park, and some of the old Disney movies while I'm on the computer so I don't feel like it's a complete waste of time. I think I just feel guilty using the computer at home after I spend so much time on it at work, but this blog shall be my motivation to get online at least twice a week and grudgingly check my email while I'm there. Speaking of which...
